RMOS Express – Ring Main & Outside Source selection & routing.

The BCD Audio Ring Main and Outside Source system is a compact, medium sized router for broadcasting applications with a total capacity of 64 x 64 crosspoints multilayer, on 4 independent layers.

Up to 63 control panels may be installed, which may be a shaft-encoder with LCD displays or multiple key LED panels. Control is via an RS485 network to minimise installation costs. Source and destination names, and router configurations may be changed.

BCD Audio's RS485 network control system runs at 172.8Kbaud, multidropped to up to 63 control panels. The router configuration and source/destination names are stored in EEROM and the current settings are held in battery-backed RAM. The processor can be accessed via an RS232 port to allow configuration. A second RS232 port supports an interface with industry standard switcher protocols, enabling the RMOS system to be integrated into a wider environment.
