Digital Audio Test Signal Generator/Tester

The Humbug is an AES-3 digital audio test signal generator, and can produce many signal levels and test frequencies with sample rates up to 96kHz. The unit can be referenced to Wordclock and external AES-3 signals. Specific sweeps, test sequences and channel status information can be generated using the supplied PC software although the unit can be used stand-alone.

The Humbug’s friend, the Jitterbug is the only unit you'll ever need to test Digital audio signals. AES-3 data analysis along with clock jitter may be investigated using the accompanying Windows software. Simple signal analysis may be performed stand-alone. The Humbug & Jitterbug are ideal analysis tools and should be found on any engineer’s workbench, hunting for those intermittent AES-3 ‘bugs’ that occasionally bite.

PC requirements are modest with communication via any available RS232 comport.

The Humbug/Jitterbug accepts DC power, from either a plug-top PSU, or a supply bus, of 8-30V.
